Vinopkm -> RE: Auction - KL Wines - rigged? ( 2:26:17 PM)Įdit- I'm totally wrong and previous posters are right and based on KL rules. What probably happened is that the other person suspected you of setting an odd maximum bid number and set their final bid at $13 higher than the current bid (so they'd win in case your max amount was $340, $341, or even $342). Then, assuming a $10 minimum increment, anyone else would have to bid $111 to become the high bidder. If someone else bids $100, it will then automatically bounce back to me being the high bidder at $101. For example, say I am currently winning an auction at $90 but have a maximum bid amount set at $101. I've only ever bid on auctions a couple of times (and have never won), but odd increments happen because people sometimes input maximum bid figures which aren't on-increment to try and get an edge at the end. If Mark is right, then a $13 bid increase is pretty smart knowing that most folks would bid the minimum increment.Īgree that most likely an automatic bidding situation.īretrooks -> RE: Auction - KL Wines - rigged? ( 2:23:40 PM) Unless Mark's point is correct and the winning bidder went from $330 to $343. No one has addressed the $10 minimum increment question. which doesn't help you feel better.ĭontime -> RE: Auction - KL Wines - rigged? ( 2:17:51 PM) I would think you were snipped with software issues/glitches. I trust KL and wouldn't think foul/rigged. I would email them direct and ask for an explanation, send them your confirmed email of high bid and max bid.īased on the $10 increments, $350 and not $343 should be the winning bid if your max bid was $340. Vinopkm -> RE: Auction - KL Wines - rigged? ( 2:16:25 PM) This is a good trick To put in a bid at $341 or $346 etc. WineGu圜O -> RE: Auction - KL Wines - rigged? ( 2:14:06 PM) That person probably put in a 343 max bid at the same Mye -> RE: Auction - KL Wines - rigged? ( 2:08:19 PM) For all you know, that winner might have entered $1000. The software only makes the winner pay just above the next highest bid. The last bottles of this I paid $99 which is current market.ĬranBurgundy -> RE: Auction - KL Wines - rigged? ( 2:01:04 PM) My last auction I bought three bottles of 2006 Arajo Eisele Syrah for $70 each which was way below market. I would just keep bidding and you are bound to win some, lose some. There are people (Like me) who think if a bid is too low will come in at the last minute and put in a higher bid. Wine Grove.…….I have bid and won every KL Auction I've entered so no I don't think it's rigged. WineGu圜O -> RE: Auction - KL Wines - rigged? ( 1:50:19 PM) What the heck ? I understand if I feasibly could get outbid in that last 5 seconds.but what happened to the $10 minimum increment?ĭisenchanting to try for their auctions, to say the ems like a robot with a software beat me out of it, or something shady is going on $10 minimum increments, and I bid max up to $340.ġ0 seconds later I got an email that I was "outbid" at $343 at 12:59:55. immediately "you are the high bidder $330". High bid was $310 or $320, auction ending 12:30pm PST sharp.Īt 12:29:45 i submitted a $340 bid. So I was bidding on 3-bottles of Abreu Rothwell hyde. Maybe some of you have had a similar experience, or an explanation? Wine Grove -> Auction - KL Wines - rigged? ( 1:36:26 PM) Auction - KL Wines - rigged? (Full Version)Īll Forums > General Discussion
